J. Maurice Hourihane, M.D., FRCPI
Dr. Hourihane serves as an Attending Neurologist at DENT, where his focus is on seeing Stroke and Alzheimer's patients. He has formal training from his native Ireland in internal medicine and neuropathology, and while at Massachusetts General Hospital he completed a neurology residency, where he served as chief resident. He previously served as the Director of the Legacy Division Oregon Stroke Center, and received several teaching awards.
Dr. Hourihane has authored numerous publications on stroke care and prevention, and is a member of the Academy of Neurology and the American Heart Association. He has served as an investigator in multiple clinical trials related to stroke drug treatment and imaging. His research interests are in secondary stroke prevention, imaging and treatment.
