Alzheimer’s Disease Research:
Dent Neurologic Institute currently offers novelty, state of the art treatments for patients dealing with Alzheimer’s Disease.
The Dent Neurological Institute is participating in a research study testing an investigational vaccine in patients with Alzheimer's Disease.
We are looking for volunteers who:
• Are 55 years of age or older
• Have been diagnosed with mild to
moderate Alzheimers's Disease
• Have a study partner - a friend or relative
who can accompany them to all clinical visits
• Are willing and able to undergo the
test procedures
• Are currently a resident in a long-term
care facility
Your health will be closely monitored by a team of doctors and nurses at the Dent Neurological Institute. Any new information about you physical health will be shared with you and your physician. All study related procedures will be preformed free of charge. Ask your research site about compensation for your time and costs incurred for travel, parking and meals.

Multiple Sclerosis Research:

Have you been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis?
A clinical study is under way to determine the safety and effectiveness of a new oral medication for Relapsing remitting MS.
Coordinators of the RRMS study seek volunteers who:
• Are 18-55 years of age
• Have a confirmed diagnoses of
Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis
• Have had one relapse within the past
12 months

Shingles Pain (Post-herpetic neuralgia) Research
Dent Neurlogical Institute currently offers novelty, state of the art treatments for patients dealing with PHN.
Now offering 2 clinical trials:
1.) Pain after shingles is serious pain
Our office is testing a study medicine for the pain experienced after having shingles also known as post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN). The purpose of this study is to determine if an investigational pain drug works safely to reduce PHN pain. The study will test 3 different doses of this investigational form against placebo (inactive substance).
You may be able to be in this study if you:
• Are atleast 18 years of age
• Have a diagnosis of PHN and associated
pain for atleast 3 months.
• Are able to stop taking other treatments
for PHN while in the study
The study team will go over the other requirements with you. If you choose to take part in the study, you can expect 10 study visits. Your total time in the study will last 5 months. There is no cost to you for all study-related office visits, medical exams, and study medicine.

2.) Pain after shingles is serious pain

The purpose of this study is to see how well 2 different doses of an investigational pain drug works in getting rid of PHN pain after taking Neurontin (or generic Gabapentin).
You may be able to be in this study if you:
• Are atleast 18 years of age
• Have a diagnosis of PHN and associated
pain for atleast 3 months.
• Are currently taking or have previously
taken Neurontin (or generic Gabapentin).
The study team will go over the other requirements with you. If you choose to take part in the study, you can expect 10 study visits. Your total time in the study will last about 4 1/2 months. There is no cost to you for all study-related office visits, medical exams, and study medicine.
