New York State Department of Health Announces Start Date for Adding Chronic Pain to Medical Cannabis Conditions
Posted on: 03/17/2017
On Thursday, March 16th 2017, the New York State Department of Health announced the official start date for including chronic pain in the list of eligible medical cannabis conditions. We have been waiting for an official date since the initial announcement last December.
In the official press release, the DOH announced an effective date of Wednesday, March 22nd 2017. Physician assistants working under physicians who can certify patients for medical cannabis may also certify patients after completing the required steps. This means that physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in New York can certify patients for medical cannabis.
To accommodate the influx of new patients, the DENT Cannabis Clinic will be hosting Saturday Clinic hours beginning Saturday, March 25th 2017.
